Serendipity

To really experience the world, you must be vulnerable to that which you are yet to encounter.
I find it tough sometimes to open myself up to new experiences. It’s so incredibly easy to do things the way we have always done it, get comfortable in the way we go about our day.

Every now and again I’m reminded of a simple question that I need to get out of my comfort zone.
When was the last time you did something for the first time?

On Wednesday this week I was struggling to get anything done, so I jumped in the car, went down to the beach and decided to go for a walk to clear my head. My intention – Go somewhere I’d never been before.

Like most people. I have my regular spots. Areas of inspiration you might call them, but today, I needed something fresh.
So I went around a point I hadn’t been, walked across the top, and back around the rocks.
About half way around, I found this.

I had a serendipitous encounter with a message in a bottle. Yeah like an actual message, in an actual bottle. It was a simple yet powerful reminder to break the patterns of your day to day
Drive a different way to work, have something different for lunch, explore somewhere you’ve never been before. Who knows what you might find or what you might experience.

In the words from this ‘message in a bottle’ When we push past our fears, challenge them, great things happen.

Have a wonderful weekend

Wallace

Ps More people need to do cool shit like this. It had a profound impact on my mindset, my day and my week.

  1. Thanks Lachie Just like your serendipitous meeting with the bottle, your blog is my serendipitous meeting with your message "When we push past our fears, challenge them, great things happen." Heard it many times but on this occasion as we are close to making a big decision it lifted me and gave me that little bit more energy, that little bit more belief in ourselves, that little bit more Yes we can do this. So thankyou for your bottle today. Cheers and thankyou Tim George
