I was having a conversation during the week about what it takes to be successful. Words like passion, mission and persistence came up, amongst others.
But one consisted theme emerged, and has continued to emerge through all of the books, podcasts, conversations and content that I have consumed this year (its been a lot) The best part, this theme is something we can all do, every day.
Just show up.
Through all the failures , all of the heartbreak, all of the blood, sweat and tears, negative self talk, frustrations and of course all of the little wins along the way. All you need to do is be vulnerable enough to put the ego on the hook and…
Just show up.
Brene Brown said it pretty well.. “Vulnerability is about showing up and being seen. It’s tough to do that when you’re terrified about what people might see or think’
It’s easy to put your dream off a few more days, it’s even easier to hit the snooze button for the third time or shut up about that issue that you believe in. Its easy to not do the things you tell yourself that you’re going to do. But we don’t like easy. Easy isn’t the thing that sets our soul on fire.
It takes a great deal of courage and sacrifice to show up, consistently, fortunately the reward at the end is well worth it.
Plus you’ll have the discipline to choose the life you want to live and as Buckminster Fuller once said (probably) “the minute you choose to do what you really want to do, it’s a different kind of life’
Be Wonderful, set your intention and Show Up.

Where have I been showing up? As a coach, my training tends to be put after everybody else’s, 4 weeks ago I said enough is enough. Prior to work, every day, I’ve been showing up, getting it done and I feel better than I have in a long time!
