This one is for you

To the dreamers, the mavericks, the visionaries. To those of you who believe that your life is completely in your own hands. To all of you who believe that you can change the world, This is for you.

To the business owners striving and struggling day in and day out to make a difference. (and to make ends meet)

To the courageous souls, the peaceful warriors, fighting their battles with their heartache, struggles, frustrations and doubt front of mind, because you can see a better future for us all.

To those entrenched in selfless careers. The nurses, paramedics, teachers, OTs, coaches, emergency personnel.

To anyone struggling to carve out their own place in this world. For those trying to make a dent in the universe. To create something that’s never been done before.

It may not seem like it most days. But you are making a difference. You’re doing your bit to make the world a better place. Even when it makes your world a harder place to be. You’re responsible for sharing your gift to the world, never take that responsibility lightly. Remember that whatever you get will pay you back ten fold, just be patient, and ride the lows and highs with the same passion and determination that you had when you took that first leap of faith.

The journey we have chosen (or that’s chosen us) it’s a lonely place. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve felt alone and incapable of climbing the mountain. But the one thing I do my best to never forget is that the pain, the struggle, the lonely nights, will help to build resilience and strengthen our armour. It’s not about having nothing to overcome. It’s overcoming and overcoming and overcoming until there is no mountain you can’t climb or barrier you can’t break through.

Heroes Journey Principles by Ray Dalio

Just like Frodo, Harry, Neo, Marvin & Dory, Dorothy, Tyler Durden, Bill and Ted and Simba. You are all heroes in your own right, on your own Hero’s journeys. You don’t need to deal with Dementors or the fires of Mount Doom or be swimming to 42 Wallaby Way Sydney, to go through trials and tribulations. You can be raising smaller versions of yourself, chasing new experiences, running a business or trying to build a community (or whatever else sets your soul on fire).

Whatever that calling is, the universe is right here by your side, as am I, willing you to succeed. I’m here to support you in whichever ways I can.

“What makes you a hero is not your triumphs over adversity, but your ability to transform the minds and hearts of others as a result” // Marcia Reynolds

Max Erhmann’s Desiderata remains one of the most influential pieces of writing i have read, this excerpt fits perfectly for me. “And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy”

If you’re yet to find your calling, if you’re not living the life you want to live, spend some time with your eyes closed, picturing what a life worth lived looks like, imagine what you will experience, who you will meet, the connections you can make, and the smiles and laughs you can have. Never, ever underestimate the difference you can make. In your life and others.

There is more pain in this world than you can poke a stick at. The trick is, shift your focus to what you can do about it. Not what you cant.

To quote P.T Barnum from ‘The Greatest Showman’: “Men suffer more from imagining too little, than too much”

Imagine that world you want to live in, and head on out and build it… Be a visionary. Be the change. Be the example, and most importantly, be you. Unapologetically, unequivocally, indubitably you.

“Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. And never forget, you don’t have to listen to anyone. Because in this new world, no one knows anything” // Casey Neistat

Be amazing.
