Time to plant a tree…and listen to Buble

jan+23

It’s December, which means unequivocally that it is the most wonderful time of the year… at least according to Michael Buble.

Unfortunately for us in the health and performance space, the new year’s resolution crew are coming. I don’t mean that in a negative way. I just believe that if you wait until next week /next month /next year or tomorrow to start something new or to take care of yourself, you’re setting yourself up to fail.

That little ‘I’ll do it tomorrow’ voice is in all of us. Those who succeed just don’t seem to listen to it as often

I’m going to use an analogy that’s perfect for health and fitness (or any goal you want to achieve)

When is the best time to plant a tree?

When is the second best time to plant a tree?
Today

I believe that if you’re not currently working towards achieving your goals and improving multiple areas of your life. Then December the 7th is the best possible time to start your journey.

Here is a 3 step process to employ if you’re preparing yourself to make a change. To create a life worth living and do that thing you told yourself you’d do next year. If you wait forwhen it is convenient, you’ll wait forever.

1. Get incredibly clear on what winning looks like. Don’t go into it with a head full of steam and no plan. You need to know what you’re aiming for.

2. Do your best. Day after day. Enjoy the vulnerability that comes with putting yourself out there, showing up, failing, and doing it over and over again. This is where the strength and resilience are made.

3. Celebrate each win along the way, recalibrate each time you fail or succeed. As you move the needle, the goalposts might move too.

The months of December and January are easy to let fly by, without any real intention or actions. There’s approximately 8% of the year left. Make the most of it.

As always, Be Amazing
