Next Monday will mark 230 days since the gym closed on the 24th March. The excitement is palpable.
The team are all busy on the back-end getting things ready. It’s been a long time coming so we are planning for a smooth transition back into normal operations. We are still ironing out details (of number restrictions, hygiene rules etc.), and we will be sending out another email on Wednesday with specifics to our members.
Here are a few updates and need-to-knows…
Memberships
Firstly, a big, BIG thank you to everyone who has stuck with us over the last few months. We are beyond grateful for the support that the Virtus Family has shown us, as individuals and a community. If it wasn’t for you, we may have struggled to stay afloat. Thanks to your generosity, we have kept kicking.
For everyone who was a member before lockdowns, if you haven’t already heard from a coach, they will be in touch by tomorrow at the latest. They will confirm what you’d like to do going forward.
VAD and VGT memberships will start back up on Thursday (for the week in advance).
We’re stoked to welcome old and new members into the gym. If you haven’t trained with us before and would like to join the Virtus Family, now is a great time.
Reply to this email and I will send you through some information about how we can work together.
Equipment Return
For those of you that borrowed equipment from the gym, we hope you enjoyed having it. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the time has come for it to come home.
We have a few time slots for it to be returned to Virtus HQ:
Friday – ALL DAY – 7AM onwards
Saturday – 10AM – 3PM
If you can’t make these times, send on of the team a message or reply here. We’ll make alternate arrangements.
NOTE: Make sure you tick your name off with the coach you’re returning the equipment to. I’d rather not have to hunt you down to get a kettlebell back.
Member Accountability
At Virtus, our role as a coach means that we help you get from where you are to where you want to be. We help you to set goals for yourself, then we shape the path to help you get there. You have to do the work, but we are with you to support, encourage and guide you.
One of the big changes we are making as we reopen is to elevate our member accountability system.
We are putting in place a system so that you can regularly review your goals, take ownership of the process and ensure that you are reaching the targets you set for yourself. This system includes:
-
Weekly and Monthly check-ins
-
Quarterly 1-on-1 sessions with a Coach
-
Access to a personalised Success Document to track progress
This will be included in all VGT and VAD memberships.
If you need some accountability and support with your goals, contact us to book in your first session.
Timetable
Bookings for VGT classes and VAD sessions will open on Thursday (once memberships have all been organised). As mentioned, our COVID Safe plan will be finalised and available this week. Here is a sneak peek of a few rules that will be in place:
-
No booking, no training – you must book in for your session.
-
Maximum of 10 people per class
-
Hygiene protocols will include; wiping equipment, washing hands before training and physical distancing.
You can check out timetable on our website here.
As always, book in for classes via the Wodify app. You can download it from the Apple store here, or from the Play store here. If you get stuck, just give me a bell.
If you want to get started with training again and create some goals for the rest of 2020 (and beyond) book in a chat with me here.
Remember: Look after your mates, keep checking in with one another, get outside for fresh air when you can, hydrate, move, eat well, smile, don’t be tough on yourself and always choose kindness.
Onwards!
Simon and Team Virtus
