Virtus Daily Blog #43 – Judging a book by it’s cover

‘Never judge a book by it’s cover.’

This is horrible advice. Sure it’s a great sentiment on paper.

In a perfect world, you should get to know something or someone before you pass judgement.

But sometimes your intuition will tell you all you need to know in a fraction of the time.

If we truly value our time and our energy, we can realise almost straight away how we really feel about a person, place, or thing.

In a world that is constantly evolving, innovating and changing before our eyes, unfortunately we don’t have the luxury to read every book cover to cover anymore. We need to make a decision, own it, and move on.

Trust your instincts, or don’t. Either way, you’re probably wrong.

  1. I often virtually look down to my left, where I’m holding the hand of my 8 or 9 year old self – little G. I ask him for his thoughts. His childhood spirit is unfettered by adult complexities. He tells me what he thinks, he’s right more than anyone else I know. Try it. I dare you, and check in with little L often – who better to guide a little L than current adult L.
