It’s a common response to the just as common ‘How is everything going’ question.
The response that you tend to say before you even realise you’re saying it.
We, as a society have glorified ‘busy’ over the last few decades. Perpetuating the hustle culture that has only been fuelled by the rise of social media and a desire to have it all.
Many of us, me included at times. Get caught in the current of busy and get pulled under before we realise what is happening. Before we can ask ourselves the big question.
What am i busy for?
If you don’t have a good answer for that question, it may be time to rethink your priorities.
To reinvent your day. To give time to the things that really matter.
The crux of the ‘busy’ trap is that you’re in charge.
We get to decide how busy we want to be. When you decide, do it for the right reasons.
As far as i am concerned, the badge of busy isn’t something I yearn for. I want to make a difference, I want to move the needle. But not at the expense of the things that are most important.
