We want to celebrate the little wins. Our member spotlight will celebrate the success and progress of one superstar from the Virtus Family each month. Fortunately, this month we have two humans who have been doing wonderful things inside and outside the gym.
Meet Steph and Tyler!
First of all, congratulations, bravo, any words for the camera?
Steph: Thanks for picking me!! I feel so honored!! And congrats to Tyler also who I have the privilege of sharing this with!
Tyler: There’s a camera?
How has your decision to join Virtus improved your life?
Steph: Every aspect of my life has been ramped up to 100 l. It’s like the whole ‘don’t know what you’ve been missing until you have it’ that’s Virtus for me
Tyler: It’s helped me translate the hard work and accountability i put into my training into other areas of my life outside of the gym
What do you enjoy most about your training? *
Steph: The community and family. And bants. And the daily news. And continually being pushed to become the best possible version of myself.
Tyler: The environment, the people I train with and coaches that coach me. I could be having the worst day ever but the moment I walk through the door at virtus it’s impossible for me to leave without a smile on my face
What are the habits that you have adopted that have helped you continue to improve? *
Steph: Consistency, progress isn’t linear and don’t avoid the stuff you suck at, because you’ll always suck at it
Tyler: I think the more I started to develop consistency with my training the more I started to develop consistency with everything outside of the gym, applying the standard I set with my training to areas like my job, work and my studies
What helps keep you on track with your goals? *
Steph: The coaches for sure. Everyone knows where I am with my progress, my injuries, they know when to push and when to let me just be. It’s awesome. I know I’m a top priority
Tyler: The people I surround myself with, family, friends, and training with my best mate helps me stay on track when I start to lose it a bit
What is one thing you have learnt since joining Virtus that has changed your life? *
Steph: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
Tyler: As awesome as lifting heavy things and being around great people is the biggest change virtus has had on my life is the realisation of how much of a positive effect training can have on your life as a whole, so much so that it’s made me decide to become a personal trainer to help people who have been through the same struggles I have
What was your first impression of Virtus Performance? *
Steph: Is this a cult? Why does the owner have such weird hair?
Tyler: Welcoming and encouraging
What are you most excited about achieving in the next few months? *
Steph: Hitting more PB’s, continue to work on consistency
Tyler: Maybe trying to do another run as a virtus intern ????
What advice would you have for someone thinking of joining the Virtus Family? *
Steph: It’s not like any other gym. It’s a family that happens to work out together. Family love each other no matter what. We don’t compete. We encourage and you always feel at home
Tyler: Forget what you think you know about going to the gym and just go in with a blank slate and open mind and be ready to learn how to do awesome things while having an Incredibly fun time
Any extra comments/jokes/memes or quotes?
Steph: Why can’t you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom? Because the P is silent! (Sorry, I’ll leave now!)
Tyler: Stay for the training, but mainly come for Rhys Johnson’s morning news reports
Two legends! Get around them!
